Karam Industries unveils first-of-its-kind RF 01 – RFH 02+ disposable face masks range to offer advanced protection to frontline industrial workers

Noida-based Karam Industries, India’s leading personal protective equipment (PPE) manufacturing company, has launched its ‘Disposable Face Masks range’ to protect against viruses, bacterial microorganisms, dust, pollen, and smoke. Bearing in mind the ongoing pandemic. The brand has introduced first-of-its-kind RF 01 – RFH 02+ Disposable Face Mask range intending to offer quality, comfort, and affordability to frontline industrial workers. The product was virtually launched by Hemant Sapra, president, Global Marketing and Rajesh Nigam, president, Technical at Karam Industries in the presence of Amitabh Kant – chief executive officer, NITI Aayog.

Karam has introduced eight variants of disposable masks designed to filter air contaminants, which, according to the company, helps the user to breathe germ-free air. The new mask range is made of lightweight, sweat-absorbent polypropylene material with an adjustable nose clip for a comfortable fit. These masks are equipped with an innovative wrap-around design that covers full face down to the chin. Designed to offer advanced protection at extended hours to frontline and industrial workers, these masks come with three key aspects – elastic earloop, exhalation valve, and an elastic headband to offer ultimate comfort during prolonged usage.

With an increasing number of Covid-19 cases, the company has expanded its PPE portfolio with a disposable face mask range as extended use, or re-use of masks decreases the level of safety. The mask ensures the durability of 12-hours (cumulative) with single-use for different industrial workers and can also be used for daily activities. Catering to the growing demand of face masks, Karam’s face mask will be is available for purchase across India at all eCommerce websites, including Amazon and Flipkart starting 10 August 2020. The masks will also be made available across retail outlets and medical stores.

Announcing the new product range, Sapra said, “Given the unprecedented times that we are living in, our foremost line of defence is taking self-precautionary measures, one of which includes wearing masks while stepping out or interacting with others. At Karam, we are continuously working with Government and authorities to enable our frontline and industrial workers to stay safe as they work towards ensuring the safety of the larger communities. The launch of the new range is our way of expressing gratitude to them and curbing the shortage of protective gear faced by the frontline staff.”

He added, “Through these efforts, we will continue to lend our support to India’s fight against Covid-19 also aligning with GoI’s mission of ‘Make in India’ by leveraging the state-of-art technological expertise at Karam.”

Appreciating the efforts of Karam and addressing the audience, Kant said, “Last couple of months have been challenging with the pandemic and subsequent lockdown. All PPE manufacturers had come together to ensure the safety and security of all healthcare workers and public at large by producing highest quality of safety products that are available at all relevant outlets possible. I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate Karam and their teams across locations that have been working tirelessly in achieving this goal. Karam is a classic example of Government’s Make in India with its production excellence and expertise.”

The company has taken several initiatives to provide support to the frontline workers through safety products amid the ongoing situation. As recent as April 2020, the brand was given a sanction by the Government of India to manufacture protective goggles for doctors and the police workforce across the country and started manufacturing medical face shields to fight the global pandemic. To date, Karam has manufactured around 18 lakhs goggles that have been distributed across the stakeholders. Karam also initiated a safety awareness drive to highlight the threats being faced by healthcare workers every day.
