Trelleborg Medical Solutions showcased its latest engineered polymer solutions for demanding medical, biotech and pharmaceutical applications at Medtec Japan, Tokyo, from 21 to 23 April.

As an experienced liquid silicon rubber (LSR) expert, Trelleborg also features its advanced multicomponent technology, combining two or more individual materials into one fully bonded, robust component. Multicomponent injection molding produces parts that are more hygienic, eradicating dead space where bacteria can breed, and lowers costs by cutting assembly processes and reducing the number of parts in customers’ supply chains.
A related technology – micromolding – is critical to the miniaturization of devices so small they are wearable and implantable. Components below 10 milligrams are possible using needlepoint injection technology and fully automated parts handling.
Trelleborg’s high-dimensional flashless and wasteless design principles create micromolded parts virtually flash-free and not requiring secondary deflashing. With the acquisition of Baron Group, Trelleborg further expanded its manufacturing footprint in the APAC region, enhancing capabilities for larger-scale silicon products.
