A successful CPhI & P-Mec event in Greater Noida

The 13th edition of South Asia’s biggest pharma event, CPhI & P-Mec India Expo 2019, was organized by Informa Markets India (formerly UBM India) from 26 to 28 November 2019, at the India Expo Centre in Greater Noida. The event, with more than 1,500 exhibitors, included industry leaders from across the globe. The event was supported by the pharmaceutical industry, including Pharmexcil, CIPI, and the Indian Drug Manufacturers’ Association (IDMA).

The pharma processing side of the exhibition, spread across 15 halls, was packed with visitors, including manufacturers, suppliers, distributors and industry experts. However, the Innopack section in Hall 14 did not attract as much footfall this year. “The footfall in this hall is not as good as the others. It may be because the visitors are not aware of the machine manufacturers in this hall. It was better organized in Mumbai,” said Sachin Dahake, deputy general manager of marketing, Uflex.

Pharmaceutical processing and packaging companies exhibited their latest developments with key exhibitors, including the ACG Group, Romaco, Schott Kaisha, Aurobindo Pharma, IMA, GEA Group, Bosch, Uflex, Bowman & Archer, Essel Propack, Condot Systems, Morepen Laboratories, Granules India, Ulhmann, Accupack Engineering, Pharma Pack, Jekson Vision, B&R Industrial Automation, and many more. Companies such as Mespack, Parle, Pharma Pack and Condot have been participating in the exhibition for more than a decade.

Rishad Dadachanji, one of the directors at Schott Kaisha, said, “The global market for high-quality pharmaceutical packaging products is snowballing, and we wish to be at the forefront of such trends. Schott Kaisha is known for bringing innovative technologies and packaging solutions to India, and we believe this is the need of the hour for our clients who cater to both domestic and global markets. An international platform like CPhI not only allows us to showcase our specialized product range to many potential customers but also helps us understand the specific needs and changing expectations of our clients. We have received a very promising response from our suppliers and clients this year too.”

Speaking about the event, Patrick Markschläger, executive vice president of the Schott Tubing Division, said, “Platforms such as CPhI enable us to understand our role in the pharma industry, and help us get closer to different players from our supply chain. Our team especially travels from Germany every year to attend CPhI India to meet our valuable customers, suppliers and decision-makers under the same roof. The exhibition also enables us to understand the trends, demands as well as challenges in the country.”

The show served as a platform for the pharma industry to showcase new technologies, latest trends and innovations in the respective fields and facilitated networking among industry peers. Apart from this, the event offered roundtable discussions and the Innopack theater to address the challenges and perspectives of brand owners on pharma packaging, drug delivery and implementing new technologies.
