Authentication Solutions Providers Association (ASPA) with its co-organizer Messe Frankfurt India announces the 5th edition of Traceability and Authentication Forum and Awards

With the theme ‘coming together to pledge for ZERO Counterfeiting’, the Authentication Solutions Providers Association (ASPA) with its co-organizer Messe Frankfurt India have announced the fifth edition of the Traceability and Authentication Forum and Awards to be held on 6-7th July 2023 at Hyatt Regency in New Delhi.

The Authentication Forum is the flagship event of ASPA initiated in 2017. It enables policymakers, brands, ASPA members, and all stakeholders to gain first-hand collaborative knowledge of anti-counterfeiting and traceability technologies, solutions, and systems. The event will bring together leaders from the industry and global experts along with top authorities from the government to discuss solutions and address the challenges that counterfeiting poses to the industry.

Expressing his gratitude to the members of the Authentication Forum for their empowering support, Raj Manek, executive director, Messe Frankfurt Asia Holdings, said, “The country requires a comprehensive, proactive, and holistic counter approach. We need to make a significant change in increasing awareness, implementing authenticated solutions, and supporting these with robust track and trace infrastructure. An aware consumer holds the power to fight this menace however we must enhance consumer awareness about this issue. Since its inception, Messe Frankfurt India along with ASPA has made good progress in creating momentum in the fight against fakes in India and we are committed to strengthening this momentum.”

The two-day event will host discussions on various topics that play a consequential role in the evolving plan of Indian counterfeiting, such as the implementation of barcode/ QR codes on the top 300 pharmaceuticals brands, discussion on pitching disrupting and latest generation technologies with insights on emerging authentication, traceability technologies, online marketplaces and anti-counterfeiting trends. The conference will also address topics such as counterfeiting and consumer perception, the future of brand security, integrating IP enforcement strategy with anti-counterfeiting, way forward for regulators, brands and consumers, best practices, global case studies, etc.

The members included in the roster of the panelists at the event include names of highly reputed personalities such as S Swaminathan, CEO, GS1 India; Jayashree Gupta, president- Consumers India; Diwaker Bharadwaj, president (Automation/Serialization, Packaging & Brand Protection), Polycab India Limited; Rajat Wahi, partner, Deloitte India; Unaise Urfi, Director, KPMG India; Harendra Bana, associate director – Global Security, FMCG; Anubhav Jain, Brand Protection specialist, Amazon; Prashant Kumar Gupta, country head of Sales, Shriram Veritech Solutions Pvt Ltd and Supriya Verma, director, PwC.

The conference will also host the first edition of its annual industry award “U K Gupta’s Excellence Award 2023” in memory of the late U K Gupta former president of Authentication Solutions Providers Association India Ltd. The awards are designed to promote innovation, development and recognition in the anti-counterfeiting industry.

The event will converge members from notable industries including agrichemical, apparel, automotive, food and beverages, consumer electronics, pharmaceuticals, biotech and medical tobacco, cosmetics, nutraceuticals and supplements, FMCG, luxury goods, wines and spirits and more.
