Sai Subhiksha Kisan Health Card’ Ensures Free Healthcare Services at SMSIMSR for Farmers

Sathya Sai Grama, Muddenahalli, the epicentre of One World One Family Mission, witnesses – “Seeding the Future – Together with the Farmers” on 13 July 2025. The initiative was organised by Sri Madhusudan Sai Institute of Medical Sciences and Research in collaboration with Subhiksha Organic Farmers Multi-state Co-Operative Society, this was a celebration to honour the farmers by recognising their commitment to nation-building initiatives.

Over 1,500 farmers who have taken up the task of cultivating ragi as part of this nation-building initiative participated in the event. Continuing a sacred tradition observed over the past two years, these farmers visited Sathya Sai Grama before the sowing season to offer ragi seeds at the divine lotus feet, a symbolic act representing their commitment to serve the country through sustainable farming.

The highlight of the event was the official launch of the ‘Sai Subhiksha Kisan Health Card’ by Madhusudan Sai, a welfare initiative that will provide free healthcare services to farmers at the Sri Madhusudan Sai Institute of Medical Sciences and Research (SMSIMSR).

The programme featured inspiring talks by several dignitaries, including Ananda AA Shri, Fukuoka from Japan (Agbiotech) who introduced the Japanese philosophy of ‘Shindo Fuji’ — which means that the body and earth are one, highlighting the interdependence of human life and nature. Other speakers included T.B. Jayachandra and Pardeshkendra Swami, who appreciated the farmers’ steadfast service and blessed their efforts.

Delivering the keynote address, Madhusudan Sai expressed deep appreciation for the farmers, calling them the true backbone of the nation. He extended special gratitude to Fukuoka for his insights and reminded the gathering — particularly the youth — to never forget the sacrifices made by farmers. He emphasised the relevance of the slogan ‘Jai Jawan Jai Kisan’, noting that while soldiers protect the nation’s borders, farmers fight daily battles to sustain the country. He encouraged everyone to honour, respect, and thank the farmers for their vital contribution.

SMSIMSR, located in Sathya Sai Grama, the cornerstone healthcare initiative of the One World One Family Mission, offers evidence-based, world-class, multi-specialty care to all, without any discrimination, free of charge. The launch of ‘Sai Subhiksha Kisan Health Card’ is a testament to One World One Family Mission’s and Sri Madhusudan Sai’s commitment towards initiatives that uplift, and transform societies, paving the way for nations and the world at large not only to survive but thrive.
