In a fresh alert, the Central Drugs Standard Control Organization (CDSCO) has flagged 48 medicines for failing routine quality tests.

A total of 1273 samples were tested, of which 1225 were declared as of standard quality. Forty-eight samples, however, were declared as not of standard quality. One sample – Flagorin (Heparin), manufactured by Divine Laboratories Vadodara – was declared as spurious, a CDSCO bulletin said.

Among the sub-standard medicines are Rantidine, Rosuvastatin and Vitamin D3, Erythromycin Stearate Tablets IP, Paracetamol, Telmisartan, and Albendazol.

The drugs were tested by CDL labs in Kolkata, Chandigarh, Guwahati and Hyderabad. See the full list here.

Earlier in March too, 48 medicines, including anti-diabetic, antibiotics, calcium and cardiac drugs, had failed quality tests.
